Light Quality
The 18-inch diameter produces noticeably softer, more even facial lighting than smaller rings.
At a standard camera-to-face distance of 4-5 feet, the light wraps around the face without creating hard shadows at the temple or jaw.
Color temperature range is 3200-5600K, the warm end handles evening recording well, but the cool end stops at 5600K rather than true daylight 6500K.
For most recording environments, this is adequate.
Stand Stability
At mid-height (3-4 feet), the tripod is stable and well-behaved.
Extended to full height (75 inches), it requires thoughtful placement, spread the legs fully, and on any uneven floor surface, the stand tips with light contact.
