Our verdict
The Huion Kamvas 13 is worth buying if you want a pen display and don't want to pay Wacom prices. The display is genuinely color-accurate, the stylus is excellent for the price, and the driver works reliably for the majority of use cases. It loses to the Wacom Cintiq 16 in driver reliability, screen size, and Pro Pen 2 precision, but the Cintiq 16 costs significantly more.

Who should buy it?
A good fit if you…
- Buyers prioritizing Drawing tablets that fit their specific use case and budget.
Look elsewhere if you…
- Buyers who need a different feature set, check the alternatives below.
Display Quality
The 13.3-inch 1080p IPS panel measures 120% sRGB coverage with a Delta E average of 1.8 out of the box, better than many external monitors in the same price range.
The screen is laminated (display bonded to glass), which reduces parallax compared to older non-laminated pen displays.
Parallax is still present in the corners: the pen cursor appears slightly offset from the pen tip by about 1-2mm in extreme corners.
At the center and in the area where most drawing happens, alignment is accurate.
Pen Feel
The PW517 battery-free stylus has an initial activation force measured around 5 grams, noticeably lower than entry-level Wacom styluses and comparable to the Wacom Pro Pen 2.
This makes tapered, pressure-sensitive line starts natural rather than abrupt.
Tilt recognition up to 60 degrees works consistently.
Brush tilt simulation in Clip Studio Paint produces realistic brush angle effects without visible artifacts or sudden jumps.
Driver Experience
Huion's driver has improved significantly in 2024-2025.
Version 15.x connects reliably on both Windows 11 and macOS Ventura.
Two situations where driver issues appeared during testing: After Windows update: The driver required a manual restart once after a Windows Update.
This would have been a mid-session disruption.
Verdict
The Huion Kamvas 13 is worth buying if you want a pen display and don't want to pay Wacom prices.
The display is genuinely color-accurate, the stylus is excellent for the price, and the driver works reliably for the majority of use cases.
It loses to the Wacom Cintiq 16 in driver reliability, screen size, and Pro Pen 2 precision, but the Cintiq 16 costs significantly more.
For the price difference, the Kamvas 13 is the rational choice for most users.

Frequently asked questions
Is the Huion Kamvas 13 good for professional illustration?
Yes, with a qualification. The 120% sRGB coverage and color accuracy are good enough for web and print work in sRGB color space. If your workflow requires DCI-P3 or Adobe RGB, the Kamvas 13 is not adequate, look at the Kamvas Pro 13 or Wacom Cintiq 16. For most illustrators working in Clip Studio Paint or Photoshop with sRGB output, the Kamvas 13 is professional-grade.
Does the Huion Kamvas 13 work with iPad?
Pen displays like the Kamvas 13 require a computer with a driver installed. They are not compatible with iPad, Android tablets, or phones without a desktop OS.
How does the Huion Kamvas 13 compare to the Wacom Cintiq 16?
The Cintiq 16 has better driver reliability, Wacom's Pro Pen 2, and a larger screen. The Kamvas 13 has comparable color accuracy and is roughly half the price. For hobbyist and indie professional use, the Kamvas 13 is competitive. For studio production work where driver stability is non-negotiable, the Cintiq 16 is safer.
