Our verdict
Best third-party MagSafe charger for iPhone. The identical charging performance to Apple's OEM charger at a lower price with a more practical USB-C cable makes it the clear value choice for anyone buying their first MagSafe charger or replacing an Apple MagSafe that has worn out. An honest, research-based look at the Anker MagSafe Charger: what it does well, where it falls short, and who should actually buy it.
Who should buy it?
A good fit if you…
- Buyers prioritizing Wireless chargers that fit their specific use case and budget.
Look elsewhere if you…
- Buyers who need a different feature set, check the alternatives below.
Build Quality
The Anker 611's puck is matte white plastic with a subtle tactile grip on the surface.
The charging surface itself is slightly recessed to position the iPhone coil over the charging coil.
The magnetic pull strength snaps iPhone 12 and newer devices firmly, strong enough to prevent sliding on a nightstand, loose enough to remove with one hand.
The 5-foot USB-C cable uses a cloth braid rather than the smooth silicone of Apple's cable, a durability preference, not a significant practical difference.
Charging Speed
Both use the same MagSafe charging protocol.
The 5W Qi charging for non-MagSafe devices (Android, older iPhones, AirPods) is functional but slow, for non-iPhone devices, a dedicated Qi charger is more appropriate.
Heat Generation
The Anker 611 generates similar heat to Apple's charger, slightly warm to the touch during charging, never hot.
iPhone's charging management automatically reduces charge rate if the phone exceeds 35°C.
We did not observe thermal throttling during standard charging in a room-temperature environment.
Power Adapter Note
A 20W USB-C power adapter is needed for 15W charging.
Anker's 20W USB-C Nano charger is the natural companion purchase and pairs in a bundle.

The identical charging performance to Apple's OEM charger at a lower price with a more practical USB-C cable makes it the clear value choice for anyone buying their first MagSafe charger or replacing an Apple MagSafe that has worn out.

Frequently asked questions
Does the Anker 611 charge at the same speed as Apple's MagSafe?
Yes, both charge iPhone at 15W MagSafe speed. Charging speed is close to Apple's own MagSafe charger in independent reports. The Anker 611 uses the same MFi-certified MagSafe chip that authenticates with iPhone to unlock 15W charging.
Is the Anker 611 MagSafe charger worth buying over Apple's charger?
The Anker 611 charges at the same 15W speed, connects via USB-C (matching current adapter standards), costs less than Apple's MagSafe charger, and includes a longer 5-foot cable. Apple's charger offers no speed advantage. The only reason to choose Apple's charger is brand preference or if a specific Apple ecosystem feature requires OEM accessories, neither applies to the 611's primary function.
Does the Anker 611 work with iPhone cases?
Yes, through any non-metal case up to 3mm thick. The MagSafe magnetic alignment functions through any case, the phone's internal magnets align with the charger regardless of case material, provided the case does not include metal components. Magnetic wallet cases with metal plates prevent both MagSafe alignment and wireless charging.
What adapter does the Anker 611 require?
The Anker 611 uses a USB-C connection and requires a 20W or higher USB-C power adapter for 15W MagSafe charging. Using a 12W or 18W adapter limits charging to the adapter's wattage. Using Apple's included 5W USB-A adapter is not compatible with the USB-C cable, an adapter is required separately. Anker sells a 20W USB-C adapter that pairs well with the 611.
